Evidence We Recover

What We Can Extract

We recover both current and deleted data from iOS and Android devices — even data that appears permanently removed can often be retrieved from unallocated storage.

Most Requested

Recover What Was Deleted

Deleted doesn't mean gone. When data is removed from a phone, it often remains in unallocated storage until overwritten. We recover deleted messages, photos, call logs, and app data — even after a factory reset in many cases.

  • Deleted SMS, iMessage & WhatsApp conversations
  • Deleted photos & videos
  • Cleared call history
  • Deleted contacts & notes
  • App data after uninstall
  • Data from factory-reset devices (where viable)

The Process

How Mobile Extraction Works

From the moment your device arrives to the day you receive your court-ready report — here's exactly what happens.

01

Device Received

You drop off or post your device to us. On arrival it's photographed, sealed with tamper-evident tape, and logged with a cryptographic hash — establishing the chain of custody.

02

Forensic Imaging

A write-blocker is placed between your device and our forensic workstation. A bit-for-bit copy is created and hash-verified — the original is never modified.

03

Data Extraction & Analysis

Oxygen Forensic Detective extracts current and deleted data from the forensic image. We target the specific evidence relevant to your matter and document all findings.

04

Report & Device Returned

You receive a court-admissible forensic report with methodology, findings, and analyst declaration. Your device is returned promptly with all seals intact.

Practical Guidance

Before You Call Us

A few simple steps taken now can significantly improve what we're able to recover — and how well your evidence holds up in court.

01

Stop using the device

Every action taken on a phone or computer after an incident can overwrite deleted data. The sooner you stop using it, the better your chances of recovery.

02

Don't delete anything

Even if messages or files seem damaging, deleting them now can harm your case and may itself be viewed unfavourably by a court. Leave everything as it is.

03

Do not factory reset

A factory reset makes forensic recovery significantly harder and in some cases impossible. Even if advised by someone else — do not reset the device before speaking to us.

04

Write down what happened

A brief timeline — what occurred, when, and what you're hoping to find — helps us focus the examination and give you a more accurate assessment on your first call.

Common Questions

Mobile Extraction FAQ

01 Will using my phone after the incident affect recovery?
Yes — significantly. Every action taken on the device after an incident can overwrite data in unallocated storage. Stop using the device as soon as possible and contact us before doing anything else.
02 Do you need the phone's PIN or password?
For a full extraction, access to the device is needed. We can discuss options during your consultation — some extraction methods work without a passcode depending on the device model and OS version.
03 How long does it take?
Most mobile extractions are completed within 24–48 hours of receiving the device. We'll give you a realistic timeline before you commit.
04 Can you recover messages from a factory-reset phone?
Sometimes, depending on the device, OS version, and how much data has been written since the reset. We assess viability upfront — we won't charge you for an extraction we don't believe is viable.
05 Is the extraction process safe for my device?
Yes. We use write-blocker hardware to ensure the original device is never altered during extraction. Your phone is returned exactly as received.
06 Can you recover WhatsApp, Signal, or Snapchat messages?
Often yes. These apps use end-to-end encryption in transit, but messages are stored locally in database files on the device itself. Our tools can extract those databases — including deleted records from unallocated storage. Signal is the most challenging due to its encryption model, but recovery is still possible on many devices depending on the OS version and time since deletion.

“I thought the messages were gone forever — he'd deleted everything before I could screenshot it. Digital Forensics Group recovered two years of threats from his phone. That evidence got me my protection order.”

“My ex had been sending harassing messages from a different number and denying it. They were able to link the device to him through the extraction. I finally had proof. Incredibly professional throughout.”
